The Great Talking Drum

The sun was setting, and colourful lanterns lit up the village square.

Everyone was excited for the evening dance until someone gasped, “Where’s the Great Talking Drum?”
This drum was special. It could shout out messages to the forest, wake up the fireflies, and even make the old trees sway in a lovely dance!

When the drum went missing everyone began to panic.

“What will we do without the drum?” shouted one person.

“The celebration is now going to be ruined!” shrieked a lady.

The king came out and said, “Whoever is brave enough to get the drum will have great riches.”

Everyone wanted to have great riches because they were poor and had to work on a farm. So they were ready to search for the lost drum.

A few hours later, everyone came back screaming. Some were bruised, others crying, and some flying in the air.

“What is wrong?” said the king.

“There was a dragon that took the drum! It burned some people, bruised others, and even threw some away. The children who are still fighting, may God let them be okay.

In the deepest cave in the village, the dragon was there with the children, who were trying to get the drum back.

“Give back our drum, you selfish dragon, or you will pay!” said the children.

One of them managed to miss the whip of the dragon’s tail and luckily get the drum back.

“Yes! C’mon guys, let’s go!”

They carried the talking drum back to the village. The people cheered, the fireflies danced in the air, and the evening celebration went on as planned. The children were hailed as heroes, and the Great Talking Drum never went missing again.
